New Management Hires and Promotions at Weber Shandwick in China
Significant growth has led to positive changes in Weber Shandwick recently.
There have been three major promotions and appointments in the last quarter, further strengthening Weber Shandwick’s leadership in China:
David Liu, formerly managing director in Beijing, was promoted to managing director, China. Still based in Beijing, David will take responsibility for the firm’s mainland China business, spanning offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. He has played a pivotal role in the recent rapid growth of our China offices, which are doing outstanding work for many of our global and regional clients.
Darren Burns, who formerly led the Taipei office of IPG sister agency GolinHarris, joined as managing director, Shanghai and Guangzhou, on October 1. Darren, an Australian national, has spent the past ten years in Taiwan, the last seven with GolinHarris.
Charles Shen joined as vice president leading the corporate and technology practices in Beijing. Charles has more than 18 years of marketing and public relations experience in China, on both the agency and client side. He was most recently marketing services group manager for Intel China for three years.
