Weber Shandwick in China worked with top fashion design label Anna Sui to sponsor an “Escape to Fantasy Island” party in Shanghai to launch its limited edition fragrance, Dolly Girl ON THE BEACH. Prior to the fragrance launch, editors were presented an original Anna Sui Dolly Girl fragrance and news release. After stirring the editors’ curiosity, an invitation was sent inviting them to come to Fantasy Island in Shanghai.

At the party, media had the opportunity to meet with designer Anna Sui. In addition, an “Anna Sui Dolly Girl” competition was held as well as a series of performances, from fire-eating to interactive cosmetic activities. More than 400 guests attended the event including many celebrities, models, socialites and media.

Following the event, the guests were invited to an exclusive interview session with Anna Sui and to a counter signing ceremony in Hangzhou.

The results and feedback from the event were positive, with more than 100 media hits. The exclusive party was the “talk of the town” creating buzz among the target audience declaring the new fragrance as a summer “must-have.”
