On the elephant Here we go!

In January 2006, Weber Shandwick staff from across China escaped the northern hemisphere winter and met in sunny Thailand for the first ever staff trip abroad.  Since China has been one of Weber Shandwick’s biggest growth markets globally, staff were rewarded with a short trip to Thailand’s capital, Bangkok, and seaside resort city of Pattaya. Thailand has become a hot destination for China’s growing traveling population, so news of a trip to Thailand created a lot of excitement in Weber Shandwick’s China offices!

From sightseeing at the Grand Palace and night shopping in Bangkok, to riding elephants, jet skis and banana boats in Pattaya, the trip encompassed all aspects of Thai culture and recreation to suit everyone’s tastes.  The evenings were also filled with activities, most notably numerous opportunities to sample delicious Thai cuisine.

From the hustle and bustle of modern Bangkok to the sun and sea of Pattaya, the trip has fostered positive team bonding amongst all colleagues and reinforced synergy between all three China offices. The staff in China hopes to meet again on another company trip next year after a successful 2006!
