The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism at China International Travel Mart
The Beijing office of Weber Shandwick facilitated The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism’s attendance at the 2005 China Outbound Forum held in Beijing from 20 - 21 November 2005. In addition to the successful fact-finding and networking that ensued, The Bahamas also launched its brand new Chinese language information website, www.bahamas.cn conceptualized and produced by Weber Shandwick.
Following the Outbound Forum, The Bahamas delegation flew to Kunming to participate in the 2005 China International Travel Mart (CITM). During the two days of the exhibition, the Bahamas booth was inundated with trade enquiries. Weber Shandwick also arranged TV and print interviews with key media. With the assistance of Powell Tate | Weber Shandwick, a meeting was arranged between The Bahamas and the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) to discuss the status of The Bahamas’ Approved Destination Status (ADS).
The media attendance, subsequent coverage and overwhelming number of trade enquiries confirmed that the Bahamas participation in the 2005 CITM was a resounding success.
"I just wanted to say thank you again…for your invaluable assistance during both the Outbound Forum and CITM. I can only begin to imagine the amount of work and preparation involved in coordinating everything, but I think we all agree it worked very well."
